How to Connect AirPods to iPhone
If you are experiencing trouble with your AirPods, you may need to reset your iPhone or change the audio output settings on your device. In this article, we will show you how to do this. The first step is to make sure that you have the latest software version on your iPhone. You can find this information in Settings > About.
Problems with AirPods
A common problem with Apple’s AirPods is that they will sometimes drop calls. While this can be annoying, it’s easy to fix. To start, try taking calls only with one of the AirPods. If this still doesn’t solve the problem, try turning Bluetooth off and back on.
If the problem persists, try restarting the phone. Many issues can be solved by rebooting the iPhone. Also, if the iPhone is running iOS 10.1 or later, try resetting the AirPods by pressing the Setup button on the case. You may need to open the case to see the LED.
Troubleshooting
Sometimes, connecting AirPods to an iPhone can cause problems. If this is the case, your first line of defence is to check that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. This can be done by visiting Settings > General > Software Update. Once the firmware has been updated, the device should be able to connect to the AirPods.
To check whether the AirPods are properly connected to your iPhone, make sure that the Bluetooth connection is active on the iOS device. After that, select the AirPods as the preferred audio device. To find this option, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen on newer iPhones, or down from the top right corner on older iPhones.
Changing audio output on iPhone
If you are having trouble connecting your AirPods to your iPhone, you may need to change the audio output on your iPhone. You can do this manually or using the Control Center on your iPhone. Once you have changed the audio output on your iPhone, you can use the Control Center to switch audio sources.
First of all, make sure your iPhone has the latest firmware or software updates. Sometimes, a new update can correct the problem. Checking for updates on your device can be as easy as going to System Preferences > Software Update > Devices. If your device has been updated, you may be able to connect your AirPods again.
Resetting
If your AirPods won’t connect with your iPhone, you might need to reset them. The Apple AirPods are supposed to connect with your iPhone within seconds. All you need is an iCloud account and an Apple device. Unfortunately, sometimes problems arise and you need to do a factory reset. This is not an obviated process, but it’s a quick and simple way to fix the problem.
To reset your AirPods, hold the button on the charging case for about 15 seconds. The light on the charging case should start flashing amber and then white. Release the button when the light is no longer amber. After that, you can let go of the setup button and the AirPods should be reset.
Pairing with non-Apple devices
When it comes to pairing with non-Apple devices, you’ll find that there are a lot of options available. While Bluetooth headphones require you to pair with the device’s Bluetooth settings, it is also possible to use a standard blue tooth connection. To do so, hold down the power button on the device until the pairing mode appears.
Newer Apple devices may use a different pairing method, but most use the setup button behind the charger. Place the AirPods into the charger case and press the setup button until an LED begins to blink. Hold down the button for a few seconds until the AirPods connect through Bluetooth. After pairing, test the connection to make sure everything is working properly. You can now pair your AirPods with non-Apple devices, although you may be limited on features and advanced capabilities.
